exceptional coverage of the 2005 tour

this is the first of two shows that my friend Dave recorded in 2005 and 2006. he was very kind and shared his master tapes with me. here is a great show, both in terms of quality and content. the 2005 tour was with dj john and before the remixes (although fett's vette is a remix). so sit back, relax, and enjoy like in those maxell commercials. thanks again to Dave, this is a great tape! bob.

my original plan was to drive up for the two shows in north carolina at cat's cradle. but mick tells me, you can't always get what you want. i had even already bought tickets for both shows. not wanting them to go to waste i sought out someone who could put them to good use...ie, someone with a taping rig. lucky for me (and you) a fellow ts.com member was willing and able to take my tickets and go tape the show! yah! so thanks to J.T.L we have a very nice recording of the show in glorious extra stereo sound! thank you J.T.L, you and that Peluso mic (and the 702) truly rock!

three years online today. moving up the domain chain!

some changes, i reencoded all the audio shows (from the wav files silly) to include id3 tags and better compression options. i dropped some sections of the site to focus on complete audio and video recordings. gone are the studio releases (this is a live site anyway), video clips (if you're looking for short cell phone vids check gootube), pictures, and the setlists - these just weren't updated in years.

many thanks to mc chris for allowing taping and being cool with spreading his music around freely. thank you previous content contributors! remember this site depends on you, constant reader, to go forth and record mc's live shows! go! tape! send me the files! it only takes one person to capture the show. think of your kids! bob.

a very fine show brought to us by oniontaper. thanks so much for taping and sharing - love those peluso's! i'm only posting the original flac files since most tapers prefer their work not be distributed in lossy (mp3) formats. so if you're new to flac, you'll be surprised by the quality you've been missing with those mp3 files. don't be put off by the file sizes either (you know you have broadband and a zillion GB harddrive). if you need help with flac, see this site. thanks again to oniontaper! enjoy! bob.

the atlanta show at the roxy on october 1st 2007 is up in the audio section. this was the first night of the 2007 fall tour with mc opening for pinback. there wasn't any need to be nervous mc! the show rocked and i'm sure the kleenex was soaked. i thought the set was tight, the jokes joke-y, and the sound in the roxy is really sweet.

this was open taping at the roxy so the milab mics were flying high. very nice sounding recording if you ask me. there is one blip in the volume in the first track but otherwise everything behaved. enjoy! bob.

studio update

mDt was very kind and sent me a copy (electronic, not the physical disc!) of the first pressing of knowing is half the hassle. now it's up in the studio section for you to enjoy.

i've got the mp3 and oggs up, but it's pointless to offer the flacs since these discs were sourced from mp3 files (mp3 converted to wav and then burned onto cd-r). anyway, enjoy. thanks to mc chris for allowing us to trade freely his hard work (it's a thumpin' good one too). special thanks to the unknown guy on OiNK who uploaded it, and mDt for snatching it before they yanked it.

all up, i finally got through updating the video section. everything in it's right place. please report any anomalies in the code should a 404 pop up. i still want to tweak the pages a little, just so they are all in sync, thematically.

i'm still grinding out the site updates - check the video page as it's the last section to undergo the knife. slow and steady good buddy. i drove to south carolina to see mc live at the village tavern and taped it with my new milab mics. sweet. i've got a backlog of new shows to upload, so prepare yourself for the deluge. bob.

the site redesign gave way to a site tuneup instead. the changes are subtle, but hopefully makes it easier to navigate and find the creamy mc live goodness you're here for. all of the html coding is still done by hand in vi so please excuse any fatfingerings. it will be a few days before everything is working properly so you will find some 404s scattered about.

i missed the site's birthday...over two years now online (and still no ads!). i hope someone taped the secret show last night in nyc. i hope even more they'll find this page somehow and contact me for a ftp account to upload it. hell, put it up on dime or etree...or even trader's den! i guess with mc's core audience either being eighteen or stoned (or some combination), i don't have much faith that people are taping his shit. i'll fight the good fight whenever he's in atlanta. speaking of atlanta i did record the last atlanta show at the loft. i'm just preoccupied with downloading hd movies from usenet at the moment. plus i was a little burned out on taping, and this show is going to be a little bitch to edit since the sound guy at the loft kept changing the volume at the show. so there's three sections to the atlanta show: part 1 is motherfucking LOUD, part 2 is amped a little low, and part 3 gets it about right.

anyway, it's been a good two years. mc please don't let them tell you we can't tape anymore if you got signed last night. bob.
